The Advanced Communications module is a suite of programs & functionality that gives you more options when transferring data to and from your handhelds. The option enables you to:

• Connect a remote handheld via a dialup modem with your office (over the Internet or direct to your desktop).
• Utilize sophisticated cradles from Intermec and Symbol using TCP/IP protocol.
• Do wireless transfer of data in one or more branches using Wi-Fi access points.
• Use Bluetooth for either land-based modems or network access points.

The Advanced Communications module enables the transfer of data to and from a desk-top to a handheld. It accomplishes this by using the basic communications features of Route Manager. Data is transferred between the office and handheld via “wireless transfer”.

Following are items necessary to enable remote transfer communications:

• Desktop computer running RMA Corporate or Enterprise with a modem installed.
• CE handheld(s) for use in the remote location running RMA CE Version 7.26h or higher.
• At least 1 handheld cradle for each location to which data will be transferred.
• A serial cradle

Following are the hardware and software items required to use the Advanced
Communications Module.

• 56K external modem kit (Includes: modem, power supply, manual, driver disk, and telephone cord.)
• 25-Pin (DB25) male to 25-Pin (DB25) female null modem cable.
• 25-Pin (DB25) male to 9-pin (DB9) male converter.
• New serial number to access the remote transfer module of the software program.
