What information do my customers see?  
Customers can retrieve all the information they may need including: name, address, phone, next delivery date, online ordering, last and current month’s statement, the name of their route driver, and more.  They can even order product!  This can all be accessed with just a few short steps.

 
Is it really technical to set up?  
No, just minor setup is required in order for your customers to access account information.  Follow the steps below:

  • Choose a host for your Web site  that allows CGI  (Common Gateway Interface) scripts (written in PERL) to be executed.
  • Create a link to access account information on your home page.
  • Transfer data each day from RM2000 (or your accounting program) to the Web site.

With all of this in place your customers can access account information at anytime.
  

Do I have to install Software?  
Yes, the Electronic Commerce 2000Ô software is a Microsoft Windows
based application.  It is very easy to install and learn, like other Windows software you may have used before.

 
Do I need to have RM2000 to use EF2000?
Electronic Commerce can act as a stand alone product.   The Stand Alone function should be used if you are not integrating EC2000 with RM2000.  This will install the EC2000 on your computer as a “Stand Alone “ product.


What changes do I need to make on my Web site?  
You need to put a link on a page for the customer to click to login.  After they click on the link it will take them to a login page where they enter their user name and passcode.

 
How do you determine and set passwords?

Your customer must enter their account number and a preset password , such as their ZIP.  This prevents unauthorized access  and viewing of other’s account information.

Within the passcode section you would choose want is required to allow your customers to view their information.  If you choose ZIP Code, the customer must use the first five digits of the ZIP Code as a pass code after they enter their account number.  The phone number option has the customer use the last four digits of their phone number as a pass code.  PIN Number enables a customer-designated personal identification number and Social Security Number forces them to use the first five digits of their social security number.

What account information is provided once my customer logs in?

This screen gives them the following information:

  • Account Name
  • Billing Address 
  • Account Balance 
  • Last Payment date and amount 
  • Special Marketing Message 

 
Can I display my customer’s next delivery date?
 

This Route Information screen displays the following information:

  • Stop Number
  • Delivery Name 
  • Delivery Address 
  • Route  
  • Next Delivery Date 
  • Route Driver

If there is more than one stop, each stop will be shown individually.
 

Can my customer view their account history?
If they wish to view their account history , they can click on the  button to view their account activity.  Below is an example of the Current Month Activity screen:

The customer has access to two months of their history information, the previous month and the current month.  This easy-to-read format clearly shows the activity of purchases  and payments this period.  At the bottom of the screen are three action buttons.

1.  Prior Months history:  See the prior month’s history information.  (This will change to the current month when reviewing the previous month.)

2.  Account Information :  Returns you to the first page viewed after entering the password.

3.  Feedback :  This will automatically take you to a blank screen so you can send an e-mail with any questions or concerns.  These will be forwarded to the email address set up in the configuration file.

     
Can my customers order product from the Web?
If you have enabled online ordering, your customer will be able to order products online, by clicking the  button located on the Route Information screen.  The following screen will appear.  
To order a product, simply fill in the quantity next to the product and then click the submit button.  Orders will be sent via e-mail to the account specified under Settings, EC2000 Web Update, Online Order E-mail.
 

What Scripts do I need on my Web site?
You will need to have the following programs in your Web site’s CGI directory - EC2KCGI.PL, EC2Kmail.PL

Typically, this is in the CGI-BIN or CGI-SHL directory depending on your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) setup.

You may need to work with your ISP to install this properly.  If the CGI script is not running, then it will be impossible to run your EC2000 software and to have your customers access the site.
