Programmer Analyst
Job Overview/Duties
Summary Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Writes programming code in C++; .Net; Visual FoxPro and Visual Studio.
Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
Analytical Competencies - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Order processing systems and Spreadsheet software.
